Crops

While Mom was visiting in July we planted "crops" - sunflowers, pumpkins and corn. As in my previous post it is imperative that my Mom be here for these projects. Thankfully mother nature has been plentiful with the rain and 2/3's of our planting has survived. Something has gotten into the corn but I am quite impressed at how our sunflowers are sprouting and our pumpkins are blooming! Payton has already invited friends to the jack o lantern festival!

Flowers

I am a not so good gardener. I LOVE flowers, but just don't have the time, patience, and know how to care for them. Mike would say I have a brown thumb. This beautiful hot pink.....the exact name escapes me (also have a horrible memory) flower was well....dead when my mom arrived. It was hidden from view behind the furniture on our back porch (you know the screened in one that provides NO sunlight or rain?) My mom stepped in and trimmed it down, drenched it and voila! Pretty Pretty flowers! Oh no, she doesn't come back until Christmas!

Thankful

On the anniversary of my dads passing I thank God for the parent I have left. My mom is not only a wonderful mother but she is also a loving, involved Grammie - even from 3,000 miles away.

Both her grandchildren adore her. Grammie always brings gummies, is always willing to play and has patience to spare. I love it when she comes because she jumps right in with everything. Both Payton and Wyatt learned so much from her this summer. Grampie is smiling from up above!

Grammie

There is just something about Grandmas isn't there? They have an entirely different perspective when it comes to your children. My kids won't get to know their grandpas so I feel especially blessed that they have such a great Grammie. She is always willing to play, teach, laugh, pretend, you name it. Payton said to me "Momma, brother and I get along really well when Grammie is here". Could it be because Grammie possesses oh so much more patience than mom and dad? Could it be she is just so excited to see them that she plays and plays and plays. I have tons of pictures to share from her month long visit with us. Hopefully I can post those next but for today I just wanted to say thank you to my Mom - I love you!

Grandma Kathy

I haven't posted since the 4th of July. I have good reason though. We've just returned from a 10 day long road trip (posts on that later I promise), and the entire month of July was spent with my mom (the next post will cover that...I promise). We were also able to see my moms sister, or as we like to call her - Grandma Kathy. Mom was here for 4 weekends, and each weekend we managed to see Grandma Kathy. Whether we took the trip to Biloxi or she drove to Pensacola we enjoyed having her around. She is so much fun and my kids just love her. I could post a little blurb about each photo but you kinda get the idea - we love our Grandma Kathy and hope to see more of her while we live in Florida.
