Peek A Boo

This is what Wyatt looks like lately when I pull out the camera. He was laying so cute with his head in his hands. I come over and viola - face covered up.
So.....I turned it into a game of peek a boo. Where's Wyatt?

There's that cute little face I wanted to capture!

Joseph

Wyatt was Joseph in his preschool Christmas program today. He was so cute. He was not a fan of his costume, even after Daddy explained it was a cool frock. He pretty much just sat tapping his foot waiting for the show to be done. No singing, no clapping, no hand gestures. Just sitting and big smiles when it was over.

Photos by Wyatt

These are all photos taken by my 2 year old. Random photos often fill by digital cameras memory as quite frequently little hands are snapping shots. But every once in a while he gets a good one. Like the one above of his Sissy. Of course I cropped it, you don't need to see all the barbies cluttered around her. I thought it would be fun so share some of what usually gets deleted every few days. A random shot of my bed skirt, some Christmas bears, me driving, and of course football of TV.

Sleep Tight

They were both snoring too!

Happy Fall

Caramel apples....
And a thankful tree. Happy Fall!

The Progression of a Photo Shoot

Here is what my kids looked like after I made them change for some fall photos. Silly me had let November get away from me and realized after Thanksgiving we would be into full blown Christmas mode. I wanted to capture some fall. My subjects did not. They wanted back inside where it wasn't so chilly. Payton wanted in the sun and was begging me to let her go indoors.
Here is what I got after running inside for a pillow case for them to sit on. I also pleaded with them to let Mommy just take a few pictures.

Here is what happened when I kept asking Wyatt to smile. That's one way to do it!

Big Boy Bike

Wyatt received is first big boy bike from a dear friend. He was so excited - "I got bike like Sissy"

Now if we can just get him to actually peddle it!

Girl Scout Tea

Payton and I went to a Daisy Girl Scout Tea this past weekend.

Her favorite part was playing before the tea. There was a cute little park and pier.

I am blessed to have this little girl and treasure each outing we take.

Marine Corps Ball

We spent last night at the Marine Corps ball. So much fun getting dressed up. I loved all the looks we got - in the hotel before leaving, at dinner with our squadron, and at downtown Pensacola as we disembarked the party bus and invaded Seville. We were able to party late into the night, sleep past 630am and have a lovely brunch without children all thanks to Grandma Kathy. A lovely night I can't wait to repeat next year. Right Grandma Kathy?

Football

Tonight as we were waiting for dinner I heard the sounds of the band as they were preparing for the start of the football game at the local high school. It happens to be right down the street. I said to Mike - do you think Wyatt would like to go? To which my husband, eyes lit up, replied yes! So cute to see my son getting older, excited to do boy stuff with his Daddy. Truly just as cute is the excitement his Daddy gets. Have fun boys!

Catching Up

The only downside of vacations is coming home and catching up on all the laundry I refused to do while playing with Mickey. The above is the clean laundry from yesterday (day 2 of doing the laundry mind you) and below was what was left of my dirty pile, or piles (on day 1 they were littered around my living room - it wasn't pretty). I am happy to announce that the last load is in the dryer now....and I can see my bed.

First Tooth

That's the look of a proud little girl. First tooth has finally fallen out. Payton couldn't be happier, she pulled it out herself (ok, after it dangled for a few days). Sleep tight baby girl and dream of the tooth fairy.

Snails

I know I have posted about Payton's snails before - boy has the population grown. We now have 11 I think...and then there is "ginormica" as Payton so affectionately calls her. Daddy found this monster. After being added with the rest of the snails we discovered this one doesn't play nice. Found eating another snail ginormica was swiftly taken out and given her own habitat.

Mike wanted to show just how big this thing is. She measured about 2 1/2 inches. And Payton has no problem with this little creepy crawly crawling all over her. This morning she told me that the snail apologized to her for eating the other snail and now they are friends.

Another Mess

I let Wyatt play with flour on the counter one day while I was cooking. He remembers this....so he spied me with some powdered sugar the other day and decided he wanted to play again. Right before a neighborhood barbeque...at our house.

That look of satisfaction was payment enough for the rapid clean-up I had to do.
"sugar rain!" Really it was flour - less expensive than powdered sugar.

And the aftermath. Messy kitchen vs. a happy little boy. Worth it.......

A whole lot of growing

Both our kids are growing, too fast for Mommy.

Payton wants glasses - she bought these at the mall. "Mom, remember that eye problem I told you about? I don't even have it anymore." The wonders of lenses. No, she really doesn't need glasses and these are clear lenses. But boy does she love them.
Then there's our baby. He got these cowboy boots the same day Sissy got her glasses. Words do not describe how sad I was when he put this outfit on. Boots, jeans, new hair cut = big boy.

A Morning Blessing

Payton was the first one up this morning. I found her on the back porch. She said "I got up to watch the sunrise". And a beautiful sunrise it was. Sharing it with her was such a blessing and a great way to start the day.

Church

Yesterday was Celebration Sunday at church. Their new building is complete and it was the first worship service held there. One catch - there was also no Sunday school/nursery so that everyone could participate. I was a little leary since my six year old started grumbling right from the get go and well those who know my 2 year old already know.........
Let me start by saying Wyatt wasn't able to last and ended up running around outside once the sermon started. But until then the most amazing thing happened. During the praise and worship Mike held Wyatt and I held Payton (so she could see what was going on in front of her). Wyatt was raising his hands right along with his Daddy at times and Payton was belting out the songs that she knew. While I do enjoy dropping them off and heading to church it was a treat to have them sitting with (or on as the case may be) us and just feeling the Lords presence. Truly a great day.

Seward Farms

Our first official "fall" activity was Seward Farms. We discovered this wonderful place last year. It has everything: horses, goats, pig races, corn cannons, corn maze, an amazingly unique play area and what my kids are running to in this picture - the tractor ride. A large tractor pulls little cars painted like cows around a field at a pretty rapid pace. It was raining off and on but our little ones didn't care. We had the best time.

See the rabbit ears? Payton's new favorite thing to do in pictures. Wyatt has lost his smile too.

Oh, there is the smile! This is on the hay ride after we emerged from the wet muddy corn maze. It had just stopped raining at this point. Wyatt kept saying "him no go faster" He had already rode the tractor ride in the cow cars and we aren't sure how he liked it. Sister went a second time but not him. He preferred slow and steady.

Wyatt curiously looking at butterflies while I am taking pictures of the wildflowers. My new title picture is from today. They have the most beautiful wild flowers growing just about everywhere.

This is Wyatt after the tractor ride. A little dirty from the hay flying in his face. And a little unsure of what to think.

This is my absolute favorite picture of the day. Payton in the corn box. Yes, a box full of corn to play in. I am still amazed my camera took that picture.

And as I was uploading the shots from today I noticed my file from last year. Here we are in front of the wildflowers. What a difference a year makes.
